Michael Kling, OD

Course Title: 5 Steps from Manager to Leader

The terms “manager” and “leader” often get used interchangeably while describing someone in charge, yet there’s a critical distinction between the two. Managers often “manage” by directing and giving orders, while the behaviors, attitudes, beliefs, actions and perspectives of a leader are “contagious” to its followers. Here we will explore five steps that will transform you from a manager of people to a true leader within your organization. In this course, new leaders will learn how to demonstrate effective leadership, influence their team, create the right culture, set goals, implement change and delegate for productivity and growth.

Biography

Dr. Mick Kling is a consultant, speaker, and business coach. He is the founder of Impact Leadership which provides leadership, culture and business coaching for the eye care community.

In addition to his role with Impact Leadership, Mick is the founder and CEO of Invision Optometry in San Diego, California. He also serves as the Practice Management and Transition Advisor for Vision Source, a network of 3,000 independently owned eye care practices throughout the US.

Jared Noble

Course Title: Optimizing Patient Experience

Do your patients enjoy coming to your office? Have they become evangelists for your practice and brought their friends and families in? An optimized patient experience not only increases patient satisfaction, but it directly leads to an increase in per-patient-revenue, exam counts, doctor utilization, staff satisfaction, and brand awareness. Jared Noble, a previous Director of Operations for 90+ offices, will spend time focusing on the end-to-end patient experience – scheduling, confirmations, paperwork, pretesting, retail floor transitions, post purchase experience, and patient recall or reactivation – and best practices!

Biography

No stranger to optometry, our Jared Noble has worked every role – except that of a practicing optometrist – within the four walls of an optometry office. In addition, he’s worked on the corporate side of retail optometry, managing operations and business transformation for a private equity backed aggregator with ~100 retail optical locations across the country. Jared’s firsthand experience of the problems faced in the optometry industry, paired with his passion for software product development, led him to found Arrellio.

Outside of work, Jared can be found at the barn learning horsemanship, the gym hack squatting, or a local greek spot eating gyros and calamari. In an alternate life, Jared would like to be Rip in Yellowstone.
